hi all,
I recently did a series of portraits of winter athletes for the high school I work at(I teach digital photography). The photos are being used for a calendar of winter athletics & posters

I was going for dramatic lighting, almost a dave hill kind of thing mixed with Nike ads.

for lighting I used 2 studio strobes gridded on either side of the athletes, slightly behind them...I got some lens flare from the strobes, but I kind of like it so left it in

I then used on camera flash with a rayflash ringflash for for front fill. For the portraits of the guys, the 'dave hill' post processing technique from the strobist flickr forums was used...the girls weren't into the harsh look ;)

I would love feedback on what I could have done differently or what I could do to improve the photos...

i'd get rid of the lens flare and make it clean black, i just think its a little distracting on such a clean shot...nice work i think they turned out great....

I agree with metakephoto. Those lens flare dots are distracting. Cool stuff though. Nicely done.
