@Whoowl: no pictures, because?
Whoowl 10 years ago
Well, I need some clarification on the guidelines for this shoot. I don't find it an acceptable arrangement if they get rights to my photos in trade for my getting to shoot in a parking garage. I know that it wasn't specifically stated they get them for free, but I think that was sort of implied. Anyway, if that is the deal, that is fine. I just won't shoot, but I will definitely come and have dinner and hang out with everyone.

the main post said "Also they are interested in seeing what we produce and may want to use photos on their website. If you are going to attend as a photographer or a model you need to agree to these conditions. "

That totally makes sense Whoowl (and its good to cover your basis first), and unless your planning on shooting boring stock photos I can't imagine them wanting anything we shoot anyhow.

Hey Shane can you clarify this a little better?

Whoowl - your concern is valid but I would not say they get full rights to your photos. They did want to see what we produce and might be interested in using photos for their website. I felt this was an acceptable agreement for the use their property without a hassle. I did not agree to them having full rights to the photos though. Also like Jeff said, I do not think they will be interested in what we produce.

It's not a big deal really. I am looking forward to the dinner and hanging out more than doing the pictures right now anyway.

I still have 600 images to go through from a trip to the beach this weekend (including my first try at some HDR stuff), then this week and weekend will probably end up giving me a ton more to work on, and I need to get off my butt and do the contest thing tonight, so I might be ready for a break next week!

what are some ideas anyone has for shooting at Tanasbourne?
afraid caption [deleted] 10 years ago
Hey OregonVelo :)
Did Joe say he would try to make it out to this shoot? I see we just have Tara at the moment so thought I'd ask.

Anyone have a motorcycle?

I think Joe is going to try. I will find out.

Has anyone told Joe that he looks like a young Tom Cruise :)

Maybe we can find him an aviator outfit and recreate a scene from "Top Gun" on the Tanasbourne rooftop (and Photoshop a plane in the background)

That's a fun idea!

Yes, I it went into my calendar on Tuesday because of the date. If the shoot is on Wednesday, then I can't make it as the rest of my week has filled up.

I had dinner last night @ Tanasbourne and drove through the center of the mall....And suprisingly enough the storefront of Abercrombie would work great for a shot on Tuesday night. There's long black slats about 5-6 inches wide that run from the ground to the top of the storefront (think huge black mini blinds) and then I drove through the parking garage, but nothing really stood out from any other parking garage.

I have a friend who's interested in pdxstrobist and he'd really like to observe on Tuesday night. He actually works at REI in Streets of Tanasbourne, and would join us after 9pm sometime. Would this be ok?

I just talked to Satheara and she was wondering what kind of clothes to bring for the shoot??? Does anyone have any suggestions??

@ deziner999 - yeah it's fine if your friend just wants to come and observe.

Mr. Meeker - We will be eagerly waiting. :)
deziner999 - that would be fine.
metakephoto - How about some thing nice and elogant?
thinkable straw [deleted] 10 years ago
How would someone get there if they happen to miss the dinner part?

I don't know where tannesbourne is or where everyone will be within it.

Get off of 26 at 185th.
Head south on 185th.
Turn Right onto Cornell.
Roughly a mile the Street of Tanasbourne will be on your right. You should easily see PF Changs and Macy's from Cornell.

We will be in that area, it isn't that large.

Not sure what time I'll roll in, probably just in time to grab something loaded with carbohydrates from Rose's.
As far as wardrobe goes, nice and elegant is the way to go, since they may want to use some of the pics on their website.
On a side not, it might be fun to do a similar shoot at Bridgeport Village in Tualatin. Similar set up to the Streets of Tanasbourne as far as the whole "outdoors mall" thing goes, but there is a beautiful fountain there and cool rocks that would be an amazing backdrop to photos.

Ok, I'll see what I can do.
