Did an edit today of an image from our Gasoline Glamour shoot in December.

The shoot was all revolving around Gasoline Glamour's jewelry and clothing designs. [GasolineGlamour.com]

Sleaztastic

I did the makeup and styling, my fiancee took the photo and did all the lighting. The original is slightly lighter in the background than this one, but I think I like it darker because it draws your attention to the model, the necklaces and ring, and the shirt.

Let me know your thoughts.

Shot looks great to me.

I think the way you lit your subject is great, but there's too much lost detail in the clothing It's a very flat black. The contrast on the skin is good, but a bit much on the jacket.

I would like to see your other version with the background slightly lighter. Cause you really lose his left elbow into the blacks.

I like this shot but whatis the purpose the the shot? To hightlight the jewelery? the clothes? or to create a feeling?

Mr Meeker - I wanted his suit to be very flat and outlined. This was not made by Gasoline Glamour, so it is an afterthought/shot accessory.

metakephoto - I think you're especially right about the elbow, thanks.

OregonVelo - The purpose of the shot, as stated above, was to show off Gasoline Glamour's designs. She made the Sleaze t-shirt, the glasses, the ring, and the necklaces. The model is simply a person playing the 'Sleaze' part to add effect.

With that being said then, I think there would need to be a little more light on the t-shirt so that the line between the t-shirt and the jacket are noticable and somehow bring attention to the necklaces. My monitor may run a little dark but just below the ring, detail is lost. If you were to simply ask what product is this photo trying to sell I would say sunglasses and a ring. Yes the Sleaze in the t-shirt stands out, but I don't really see any other detail in the t-shirt.

Don't get me wrong... I like the photo as a whole. I am just trying to give you back the feedback you asked for.

I see where you're coming from, but there isn't much detail to look for in the shirt. It's black, with "Sleaze" written on it over and over. The shots were [in general] for a magazine feature about Gasoline Glamour. Each one was supposed to show off the style, and the accessories/clothes she designs.

Here are some of the others:

In the duo shot, I'd have had the womans hand closer to the product to draw the eye. As it is (without reading the posts) I wondered if the product was the entire outfit.

I'm learning how to shoot product too. All I've done is shirts so far.
