Hello, I have an XA2, recently i found all my fotos have black lights on it, especially on sunny days. I don't know what is wrong with it. It never had these lights before.... Is anyone has this situation also? or if you know what's wrong with it or what should i do, please let me know...
I have just picked up a very nice Olympus XA4 for a reasonable price. I have also seen that they did a little fold out diffuser for the flash. I was wondering if there is anyone that can tell me how well it works and if it’s worth hunting for one.
I recently purchased my second XA2 -- the light meter on the first (flea market pick-up) was clearly off, and I'm beginning to have concerns about my current model.
I just got my first test roll back and shots that I took in more-than-sufficient light came back blurry -- pretty sure it's not an out-of-focus blur, but rather a slow-shutter-speed blur, I'd guess the shots...
I wanna try to shoot my XA2 with the A16 flash at a concert, but don't want to waste too much film. Can anyone share some tips/experiences, please? For example: I'm not quite sure whether I should set the A16 to FULL or keep it at iso400, when I want to shoot Ilford HP5 @800. I know that the XA2 will fix the shutter speed to something like 1/30th or 1/60th, if the flash is...
I recently picked up an original XA for enough for me to want to get it working, but not enough for me to mind too much if I mess up the repair.
I've shot a couple of rolls through it, and it's perfect from about f5.6 and higher and for objects in the distance, but up close and at a wide aperture, it just can't hit focus at all.
I've noticed that the focus w...
My aperature blades are stuck open at f/2.8 on my Olympus XA.
I have taken it apart using photos and videos on the internet but have come to a halt as my XA doesn't have a gold ring around the lens to remove. What do I do next?

I was shooting with my XA yesterday and the focus ring was a bit stuck. I used a little force to get it moving again then the focus lever just became very loose and I can't see the internal elements move anymore. Did the camera break? If it did is there a way to fix this?
I bought an XA (original model) around 15 years ago - but have recently rediscovered it, along with a ton of online advice that has helped me get the best out of it.
I thought I'd share what I've found, and hopefully people can correct me and give me additional tips for getting the most out of it.
1. Repair the light seals - you can do this yourself following these ...
Just ordered an Olympus XA2 and some Ilford HP5+ film and can't wait to get started.
I'm pretty new to shooting with film. I've only really messed around with an Olympus OM camera a bit in the past.
I'm just curious about pushing and pulling the film with the AX2. Can I change ISO settings mid-roll/shot-to-shot to change my exposure. Will this mess with the film? I ...
I recently bought an Olympus XA and have so far shot and developed a few rolls with it. 90% of the resulting photos are not in focus. I've added black tape to the rangefinder in order to make it more clear, however, when I change the focusing lengths on the camera, nothing appears to change through the viewfinder. i.e. If I want to take a photo of something tha...
So, I feel like my XA seems really lo-fi compared to most other images that I see and I'm getting lots of sprocket marks and other markings as well. I've attached some images and am wondering if anyone knows why this might be occurring and what I might be able to do to resolve it.
I was hoping to get some guidance from some experienced users of the XA2 who may have some insight into my situation.
Last night, I shot a roll of color Kodak UltraMax 400 at a concert with a high energy singer. I can't stand blurry slow-shutter shots of this kind of thing, so I shot the roll underexposed at 800 on the XA2.
However, I also used the A11 fl...
3 or 4 months ago I was chatting with a mate, also an enthusiatic XA advocate and he pulled out a little digi camera and tells me he has dicovered the nearest thing so far to a digital XA! -The Ricoh GX100.
Yesterday I got one myself.. I am still getting to know it but I am pretty excited!
Hey need help with my Olympus XA. It's been working great since I got it secondhand. With bad luck, I dropped it today and the shutter release button fell right off. All seems to be working, from the flash A11, meter, film advance, focus, etc.
I was thinking of just using some glue to put the red button back on, but don't wanna do anything too risky there unless I get so...
Hello guys, I just bought XA and its mint but it has a problem with yellow rangefinder patch. When I turn focus lever, nothing happends in the viewfinder. Image doesnt overlay. Lens elements are moving a little, but in the yellow patch nothing happends.
Can someone tell me what the problem and can it be fixed?
Thanks in advance and sorry for my english :D
Hi i just received my xa3 today without the instruction manual. I am a bit confused on how to load the film properly. Do i feed it through the steel piece that is attached to the spool or does it go past the red line and wind on there? If this is covered in the manual and anyone in the group has one could you please put a photo of it up, showing what to do i really don't w...
