I'm scanning some Kodachrome slides from 1984, and see that there is a shifted double image, sharp ... so not a slow exposure issue. Shots were taken in bright sunlight.
Anyone know how this could have happened? Olympus XA
Here is one of numerous shots:
and thank you for a great group with lots of good information about this great camera family.
I am a new owner of XA and have shot around 30 rolls with that, with varying success.
The camera got wet around two months ago, where I count the problems to start. The problem occurs in some photos resulting very sharp photos which still looks shaky. I was conside...
After almost 10 years I finally took out my XA2 to shoot film again. Out of the plenty times I’ve used it I’ve never had any problems with it. I’m a very conscious shooter as I’m concerned with messing up (I’ve had 1 blank roll come out) I’m assuming due to loading too quickly/improperly... but now I’m not too sure?
Everything was going great today until it ...
Hey everyone! I've got a parts XA and functioning XA, the latter of which the film door needs to be replaced due to rust making it impossible to put new seals on. I got my parts door off however I've been having trouble getting the functioning one off. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
have a new xa, well not new but new to me. kinda one of those love at first sight kinda things, just sent it out for a cleaning, new light seals and to fix the film advance ( was getting stuck on 10) received it back and seems to be working great. ( now at 21) I've never used a rangefinder just a few SLRs like the pentax k1000 and cannon AE-1. running a roll of Tri-x thr...
Anyone ever attempted this? Got any tips, links, equipment recommendations?
I've got an XA which is in very nice condition except that dang foam, and if it's cheap enough to get supplies, i'm confident i can repair this myself pretty solidly.
The rangefinder on my XA is not coinciding. It appears to focus as I can see the lens elements moving when I move the focus lever. However, the two images that make up the rangefinder are non-coincident, and do not move at all. Has anyone else out there experienced this, and can provide insight into what might be involved in fixing this problem?
Hello, I acquired an XA new in 1985 with an A11 flash. I'm back into film with some cool shots on the XA. It's a neat little camera. See my Olympus XA album here:
Picked up an Xa2 recently and just noticed it's got an A printed on it? Seems factory.... Can anyone shed any light?
a) zone focus? (prefocus your camera) if so, at what settings and what occasions/time of day
b) hyper focus (also prefocus) again, what settings and time of day/occasion
c) or do you just focus 'on the spot'
if it is a combination, then feel free to write when you do each.
Personally, I want to get use to hyperfocus and zone focus techniq...
I've looked around the net and can't find an answer to this. So here goes!
When using the A11 on asa 100 or 400, with the fstop at "flash", what are the respective exposures? Are that standard and fixed? For example asa 400 and "flash" is f/4 at 1/30? Something like that? Always the same??
When setting the flash to manual and selecting an f/stop (basical...
I got an XA in decent condition (although the RF is VERY dusty and difficult to see through) off eBay.
Although the shutter release and the light meter respond to changes in lighting, ISO setting, and aperture, the indicated shutter speed int he RF seems to be about 5-6 stops slower than it should be based on settings.
For example, pointing my Minolta CLE or Canon ...
Hello there, I picked up an Olympus XA earlier this year, but have been having some issues with my flash.
Whenever I've been in dark situations will my flash it hasn't fired off, I can't seem to figure out the issue. I've tested the flash without film, by holding my finger over the light sensor and it's fired off, and only has it once fired off while the film has been l...
Looking to see if anyone else has experienced this with their Olympus XA. It just started happening mid roll. Every time I go to wind the camera the shutter is tripped at about where you’d expect it to stop for the next exposure. Then it continually is allowed to wind and wind, tripping the shutter ad infinitum. I cannot manually trip the shutter. If I wind the camera wi...
Am looking for a carrying case for my XA 2. 3rd party is OK. Have seen the Red leather ones from Japan and they look very nice but a XA2 is included and the price is somewhere north of $200 US.
I would like a case that has a divider down the middle that would allow the flash to be stored seperately from the the body, any ideas?
I have an Olympus XA that is in perfect working order, but has one problem. A small piece or plastic broke off the bottom of the rewind shaft. It is one of the two small parts that stick out to pull up the metal bracket to open the film door. The film door can still be opened, but only if you turn the rewind knob in the exact correct direction.
It isn't a big probl...
