Group DescriptionThis group will allow teachers to post object portraits created by students, allow museum visitors to post object portraits they create at NMAH, and allow anyone to view the portraits online. A teacher's guide with suggestions for creating object portraits with your class can be found at historyexplorer.si.edu/ObjectPortrait.pdf.
Group RulesSubmit "object portraits" here to be considered for display and discussion at the National Museum of American History! Your participation in this project is subject to the following conditions and rules:
You either (i) own all rights associated with your submission or (ii) have received permission from all humans that may be depicted in your submission and from all humans and entities that may own content (or rights in content) that may be depicted in your submission. You retain ownership of your submission but agree that, if selected by the Smithsonian for inclusion in the exhibit, the Smithsonian may use your submission for any educational, promotional, or other standard museum purpose, in any media now known or later developed, without compensation to you.
By submitting content, you waive any privacy expectations you may have with regard to your submission. If the Smithsonian selects your submission for inclusion in its exhibit, the Smithsonian will make the submission, in whole or part, available to the general public at its premises. You acknowledge that commentary with which you disagree may become associated with your submission.
All submissions are voluntary on your part. You have no expectation of remuneration of any kind. You agree that the Smithsonian is under no obligation to use your submission in whole or part.
All Smithsonian decisions are final.
