Several of our members have placed and won in this annual contest because our group is QUALITY.
If you've seen that little Visit Oakland booklet at the airport or around town, there are a bunch of Oakland flickr people published in there.
We need a moderator or two who is more active than I've been lately to keep an eye out for and remove off-topic photos.

This is kind of an unusual request, but I'm trying to help a friend justify continued funding for Oakland's parks. Do you have photos of blighted parks that you can share with me?
Tora Rocha, Anca Mosoiu and I have assembled a small exhibit of photos of volunteers working in Oakland's parks. The show is in recognition of April being National Volunteer month.
Opening is tomorrow night (Friday April 8) at the Brown Couch Cafe.

The Friends of the Gardens at Lake Merritt are soliciting photographers (and other artists) to show and sell in the Garden Center and Gardens at Lake Merritt, June 4 and 5.
Expect 2000-3000 people from Berkeley, Piedmont and Oakland each day.
A special photography room with 12-18 selected photographers will be set up in the Garden Room, next to the Japanese Garden....

This morning on Nov 5th, this dog was found in the Oakland hills area, apparently lost for a couple of days. If you know this dog, or are its owner looking for your lost dog, please reply! She is probably about 2 years old, black and white Old English Sheepdog, about 75 lbs, has no tags.
