I have a pretty crazy reversed lens macro set up for the P5100 which has been stolen and replaced by our insurance company by the P6000. My adaptor for the p5100 won't quite fit the P6000 thread once the lens ring has been removed. looks to be a fraction bigger.

Just looking for a step down ring but need to know the original thread size for the P6000.

Help appreciated! :)

Hi, I'm hoping that someone else will give you an answer because I'm not confident enough to know that what I'm telling you is right. Can't see any mention of thread size in the manual oddly!

Just didn't want you to think I was rude.

Haa haa thanks Cyran. Yeah I can't find the thread size anywhere either. Don't really want to have to buy a new adapter as i would have to get the center of it cut out again (to shorten it) which was done by a gunsmith mate of mine at the time (no longer around).

If you're patient and can wait until I get my bloody camera from Nikon's Warranty service, I can measure my thread size with my vernier calipers...

im fairly sure the thread size is propietary and not a standard filter thread size. i may be wrong tho.

I measured across the lens (from one side of the thread to the other) and got 45mm. Does that sound any good to you?

One note: the UR-E21 adapter ring end thread (where you screw on lenses) is very, very close to the fully-extended camera lens (ie: it doesn't reach out that much farther). So close, in fact, that the lens knocks against my telephoto converter if I don't use a spacer. I'd suggest you check it out in a store to see if your setup will work.

If you check out the varios adapter rings for the P6000 on Ebay including the 52mm version somewhere among them is the P6000 body thread-----46mm

The p5100 is 43mm thread , so with a 46-43 step down ring you will be able to connect ,also with the step down ring you will gain the extra 2 or 3 mm that you need for the extension of the P6000 lens. i.e the P6000 adapter ring is 2 or 3 mm longer than that of the P5100.
