Sorry to be leaving the group but I have just upgraded to a D7000. I still love the D5000 and think that it is an amazing camera. I hope that I am as pleased with the D7000 as I have been with the D5k. I have enjoyed contributing to tha group and the forum over the last three years. Thanks for all the hits and comments. Best wishes to you all and farewell.

Congrats. Question: I know it's not much of an upgrade, but did you consider the D90? My sis wants to buy my D5000, and while it is enought for me there are a few things I would like to have. Better viewfinder, master-slave mode on sb-600...and a bit bigger in my not-so small hands. The D7000 is just a bit more pricey, but I wonder if it's worth it.
Thanks in advance.

I know this was 19 months ago, and, presumably, you've upgraded to a newer camera, but I felt compelled to answer. The D7000 is a wonderful camera. Yes, it's worth getting. Although the D7100 and D7200 are newer, and have better AF and more megapixels, the D7000 is, by no means, outdated.
