I use iPhoto on the Mac for simple edits and GIMP for more complex manipulations. GIMP is open source and free and has nearly all the capabilities of Photoshop.

Photoshop Elements 8. I bought it about two months ago and am still getting to grips with it, however as I keep taking pictures that turn out too dark it has been a great help in lightening my pics

I'm using Gimp right now, but ones like Picasa and Photoscape are much more user friendly. I still use Photoscape for quick and easy resizing photos for emailing or posting on Flickr.

I use different ones. For complex stuff I use Paint shop pro photo X2 or Paint shop pro 9. For the more simple edits I use google's picasa, and I sometimes even just use the options I have on windows.
At the moment I'm trying Adobe photoshop lightroom, and I love it!!
I prefer Apple Aperture 3...It's quite simple, and can work with a great number of photos. Adobe Photoshop is incredible, but work with one only photo...I think it is not usefull to manage lots of photos (lightroom is a good alternative).
I'm sorry for my english, it isn't perfect :)
