Group DescriptionWelcome to the National Museum of Scotland

We’d love to see the museum through your eyes. Photography is allowed in the museum so long as the images taken are for personal, non-commerical use. Please check out our photography guidelines before posting your images to the group. Thank you.
If you have images from any of our other museum sites, please post these to the relevant groups:

The National Museum of Scotland is part of National Museums Scotland, the country's national museum service. Our collections tell you the story of Scotland, its land, people and culture. Our exciting Royal Museum Project is now underway with around half of the museum complex currently closed, including the Victorian main hall, reopening in 2011. In the meantime, there is still plenty to see, do and photograph. We cover life, the universe and everything in it. Some exhibits are millions of years old, others less than a decade.
Want to visit our collections in person? Come and see us in the heart of Edinburgh's Old Town, Chambers Street EH1 1JF. Admission is free and regular opening hours are 10:00 - 17:00. See you there!
National Museums Scotland cannot be held responsible for any images posted to this group by third party users. However, if you discover any images in the group pool which you feel are inappropriate or in breach of copyright, please contact us and we will follow it up with the relevant user and, if necessary, report it to Flickr.
Group RulesAll images must have been taken at the National Museum of Scotland. Images of objects and displays, architecture and the building, events and people enjoying their visit are all welcome.
For shots of events and people, preference is given to scenes in the context of the museum, i.e. with crowds, the building, in the background.
Photography is allowed throughout the museum except in special exhibitions or unless otherwise indicated so long as the images taken are for personal, non-commerical use. Please familiarise yourself with the museum’s full photography guidelines on the main group page before posting any images to the pool.
We would like our group pool to be as diverse as possible. You are kindly asked not to flood the pool with multiple similar or identical images. If you have several shots of the same view, please choose one or two of your favourite or best ones to share.
All posted images and discussions must be suitable for a family audience, please consider this before you post.
The admins reserve the right to remove any material they deem to be offensive or deemed to be in breach of the museum’s photography guidelines at any time without notice. Other material that is deemed not to meet the objects of the group may also be removed.
Repeat offenders will be blocked.
