Hello, I am Alex Cunningham, living in Hawick. I have been a lifelong plane enthusiast, being a member of 2175 squadron ATC Rolls Royce Hillington and also part-time washer and valeter of the Loganair fleet back in the nineteen sixties. Your Beech 18 G-ASUG is an old friend from those days. I am currently a private pilot flying from Carlisle where I am also a volunteer at Solway Aviation Museum.

Hello, my name is Jenni and I am the Visitor Studies Officer at National Museums Scotland. My key responsibility is developing and managing a programme of research into visitor learning across our museum sites, but I am also one of the moderators for our new museum Flickr groups. I hope you enjoy being part of this group.
Hi My name is Fiona, the museum is a place I visited many times as a child and i have watched it evolve into what it is now.
moving away from the area means i cant get there as much as I used to but i still visit armed with my camera and my own family!

My name is David and I have visited the museum on several occasions,
As a child I was brought up in the Central belt and spent a lot of time in Chamber Sreet (my dad was an Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries) but only visited the site once or twice, which I have rectified in adulthood.
I am an admin of the WWII group and have a love of aviation history

Hi, I'm David Shirres and have always been interested in all matter aviation, maybe because my Dad was a pilot instructor in WW2. I live in Linlithgow, although this is some way from East Fortune I try to get to the museum at least twice a year (once for the airshow). Although tt's great to have such a good aviation museum in Scotland, aviation Museums at Montose, Inverness and Dumfries also have much to offer.

So would it be an idea to expand to scope of this group to include all Scottish Aviation museums?
I must be turning into an old grump, but has anyone else noticed that images are being posted that have NOTHING to do with the museum at EAST FORTUNE and feature aircraft that have never visited or are likely to!
This group is not being moderated properly and my fear is that the wrong type of image(s) will soon appear.
Over to you all now.

Robert.

I would like to reassure everyone that this group is being actively moderated, as are all our NMS groups. Currently we have been checking the group pool once a week, but with the popularity of the group rapidly expanding we are reviewing our resources and strategy for taking this forward in the New Year. The inappropriate/ irrelevant images which were added during the last week have now been removed from the pool. Please can I remind everyone else that only images taken at the Museum of Flight, East Fortune, should be added to the pool. If you do find any others that have slipped through our net and should be removed, please let us know in a direct message and we will take care of it. Thank you all for your enthusiasm.

Hi, my name is Ian Brown and I am the Assistant Curator of Aviation at National Museums Scotland, and the only curator onsite at the National Museum of Flight. I've just taken on the role of moderator of the group. It is hoped this should make it easier to ensure only images taken at the museum will appear in the group. Certainly, I know what we have in the collection and what appears at our events.

I will do my best to ensure that this group is interesting and helpful for its members and hope to see you all here in due course. In the meantime, feel free to post any queries you may have and I'll do my best to help.

Hello, I am Eduardo M. I have also been nominated as volunteer moderator. Nothing new in my interests here, photography and flying machines (among others). I have been trying to attend an air show since I moved into Scotland and have not been lucky so far. Let's hope this changes soon :)

I really hope we can make a great group with all you here. I am usually online and I will do my best to find time to check on this group (and other NMS group I moderate as well) in a regular basis.

Hi, Saul Gardiner here, Edinburgh based photographer and have worked with the National Museum in years gone by. My interest in aviation comes from my grandfather who was a pilot in the Fleet Air Arm flying Chance Vought F4U Corsair's, if only there was one at the museum! Cheers Saul
