Broken Soup Bowl

hannahbearsmom 4:48pm, 4 October 2006
I was carrying my lunch into the kitchen to heat it, and the soup bowl took a nose dive onto the carpeted floor. I heard a loud cracking noise, and when I retreived the bowl, I noticed that a portion of the bottom lip (the rim that keeps the soup bowl centered on the outer container) had broken off. I'm really bummed.

I've been using my Mr. Bento for less than 2 weeks, and it is already broken. I sure hope Mr. Bento doesn't start falling apart. I'd hate to have to say what a waste of $40+. I sent an email to Zojirushi, and I'm hoping they'll replace the bowl.

Laurie,

I think if you contact the American division of Zojirushi, you can purchase an extra bowl/set of bowls. If I'm not mistaken, that was discussed in one of the other threads a few months back.

Thanks. I saw that, but I realy don't want to spent $15 to replace a bowl that is less than 2 weeks old (the bowl is not cracked or leaking so I can still use it).

The bowl shouldn't have broken when it fell approximately 3 feet onto a carpeted floor. I contacted Zojirushi via their web site and I'm hoping that they will replace the bowl. The main reason I'm upset is that the components of a $40+ lunch container should not break in such a short time under normal use.
