Group Description
They use Base 9 for their company’s logo font, because it’s called BASE, Whitman for Whitman College, and Cooper Black for Cooper Tires? This group is for gathering all these examples that show lack of typographic imagination (or pure coincidence). Feel free to show us your examples of fonts in use that have been chosen because of their name.
LTypI was founded by Stephen Coles and Ivo Gabrowitsch in 2008.
Group Rules
Only proper LTypIs qualify for the inclusion in the group, i.e. the text must match/include the typeface name, or most of it. Alternative spellings (Baohaus in Bauhaus, Goudy for Gaudí) or anagrams (Hobo for BoHo, Esra in Eras) are accepted, too.Close, but no cigar? Such subtler finds are often the funniest, and are highly welcome, too – just not in the group pool. You can post them in the “Almost” thread, or send a tweet to @LTypI. If the connection is not obvious, please include a short explanation.
