I was thinking of going to the LT Museums Acton Depot Open Day this weekend. But can anyone tell me why TFL/LT/LU in their infinite wisdom would close both the District and Piccidilly Lines up to Acton Town over this weekend?!!! Do they not want people to visit the depot on an Open Day?!!! If you have to close one, close one, but both on the same stretch???

I agree - when I went one year they did the same and I've heard that it happens quite a lot. Anyway, I've blogged and hopefully people will manage to make their way there somehow.

I was considering it too, but with the engineering work on the Tube it's far too much traveling for me. Pity! I was hoping to meet some people too, but what can you do?

I went today for the first time, mostly to drool at the old typography.

Added far too many pictures to the pool. ;-)

Wow Jack - loads of pictures - you must have had a good time. Still not sure if I can make it tomorrow. I did go to the miniature day in 2005 - although I'm sure it's changed since then. But look forward to seeing everyone else's shots.

I went in the end with my new G/F and we both had a really good time. I will add some pictures to my Flickr page when I get the chance ASAP! And Thanks for the mention and the link in the Blog Annie!

Central Line to Ealing Bdwy and then back-track seemed to be a better option than the bus. Though I did notice that one of the replacement buses was a Routemaster.

But they could have done with making the Ealing - Acton shuttle trains a little more frequent than every 20 mins on Sunday afternoon.

It seemed like there were a lot more stalls there this time, and the way they were placed made it hard to poke around in some of the nooks and crannies, which are often the more interesting bits to explore.

(who might be able to post a few more pics before I head off to Spain)

Unfortunatley London Underground has an engineering works plan that is way in advance of Museum planning for open days (we're talking years here!). Well done to all those that made it along anyway. I was there both days and it seemed really busing. Did anybody spot us doing handling activities by our new exhibition on the Mezzanine? Thanks for all the photos they're great!
