Group DescriptionThere are some real comedy cycling features in and around Newcastle.
Let's expose some of the sillier features of Tyne & Wear cycling!
Amy Hunt, Chronicle journalist says:
"There are some silly cycle lanes out there and I would like to expose them! I've seen a couple of websites which collect photos from bike riders of cycle paths with phone boxes, bins, advertising boards, trees in the middle of them, bike racks in the middle of bushes etc, which are hilarious.
"If anyone has any examples of daft cycle lanes from Tyneside post them on here or email them to me at firstname.lastname@example.org and they might get used in the Chronicle or online. You don't have to give your name or a comment, but if you're prepared to stand up and be counted it would help. Thanks very much!"
Katja, chair of he Newcastle Cycling Campaign, says:
"Help us unearth those daft cycle facilities of Tyne and Wear. Snap them and post them! Funny bike stands, silly cycle lanes, daft signs, all safely qualify.
"This is a project of the Newcastle Cycling Campaign in collaboration with the Chronicle, the local newspaper. We have collated a few photos to date, but we need many more to clearly demonstrate our sentiment. Your help would be much appreciated, and your photo might even end up in the newspaper!"
