I thought that I would start off the group with my first image that I processed using Lightzone.

The Hult Center

For comparison, I did similar edits in Photoshop Elements.

The Hult Center

I feel that the tonal range is a better in the Elements processed photo. The Lightzone version is flatter. However, I felt that I had much more control over the blending of the different zones in the Lightzone version (I had three main development locations: the foreground, the building, and the sky). The transitions are harder to see in the Lightzone version, while the Elements version has some hard boundaries.

I'm sure that things will start looking better once I get a hang of how the Zone Mapper works.

LightZone definitely works differently, and it takes a bit of getting used to.
