What's your favorite place to go this time of year -- in the Lehigh Valley -- and fire of some shots? Why?

This time of the year it is the Bald Eagles out at the Portland Met-Ed along the Delawre River.

The reason is because there are nested down with young ones right now, as they are every year at this time... Same pair same place...

I've been living in the Valley for many years, and I never heard of the Bald Eagles nesting down by the Delaware. Thanks for sharing that info.

Up... Will be there today taking pictures at 10:00am... Right after going to Lake Minsi to take pictures of the 1st day of Trout Fishing...

Very cool. Yeah, they look like they're tough to shoot. What lens did you use...70-200?

I used my Sigma 170-500mm for this... This are far away and high up... Can not get any closer...

Thanks for the idea. I also found the Lock Ridge Furnace complex, yesterday. Neat place.

I love the Rose Garden & Cedar Beach. Great photographing anytime of the year!

To Eaglerm: I would probably need a tele-extender then. My longest lens is a 70-200m, but on the digital it gets to about 300m I believe. Too short for the eagles I suppose.

Before they finish the taking most of it down, I enjoy shooting Bethlehem Steel. There are a lot of interesting textures and color...

Bizryter:

Its true, you wouldn't be able to get inside the fenced area; but you can actually take some unobstructed shots now. You can get right up to the fence all around it. You can shoot through gaps and over the fence. Along the tracks there is no fence...
