CBJason 1:50pm, 4 August 2009

1. Make sure the image can downloaded from where ever you are hosting it (Flickr hosting preferred, but not required)

2. Longest side should be no larger than 800px or smaller than 600px

3. The theme is: FUN! (please keep it work safe/PG-13)

4. Prize: A Wacom Bamboo Fun (small)

5. Entry Window: Aug 4 - August 31

6. It's okay to use archives, but in a draw, the more current image will win.

7. Please limit entries to 3 per person.

8. Punish those pixels - the prize is a tablet so may as well get used to editing those!

9. Remember, the idea is to have fun, so everyone is encouraged to share their photos in the group. The contest is specific to the thread though, so you don't have to share images in the group to be considered for the giveaway, but that way fewer people will be able t enjoy your work!
Is there any theme aside from "Fun"? Hmmmmm ... I assume it is a PG-13 or nicer as well? Sorry just came back from commenting on a wicked photo of citrus :)

Good point - yes, please keep things PG-13 and work-safe! :)

ooh I have an idea for this one
nzm_uae 6 years ago

Do the images have to be photographed within the month of August 2009, or can we use older images - as long as we upload them during this month?

I THINK it's for photos taken in the Month of August (to give people a fair/equal start/timeline) but CBJason is definitely the final authority. Otherwise I can think of a ton of images in my archive since I have been taking photos since I was about 8 (so nearly 3 decades) and that would not be fair to someone who just picked up a camera last year ... or last week! :)

Another question is: How much post-processing are we allowed to use, or is that up to us? :)

Heh, went from too tough to too loose - updates above.

Hi, I'm new to the group - should I post my entries in this thread or in the pool or both?
CBJason 6 years ago
Both is ideal, but to be considered for the giveaway, here in the thread is the important place...

This Polar Bear had great fun diving in and out of the water while doing some very elegant underwater ballet . He kept this up for at least an hour. It was a hot day, almost wish I could join him, he was having such fun!
