Group Rules

Group Purpose
The purpose of this group is to create a pool for viewing of landscape photography. The pool is curated for subject matter not quality but also to exclude distraction or self-promotion. The purpose of the discussion area is to focus on landscape photography. There are many, many landscape groups with different sets of rules and different focuses; this one is not trying to be the right group for everyone.

Rules for Pool Submissions
“Landscapes" for this group must include land, and landscape must be the purpose of the photo. For seascapes or urban landscape, please head to other groups.

1. Do NOT submit:
• Images with watermarks/signatures/logos large enough to be seen in the pool view. Images with added frames that are not a part of the image itself.
• Just sky, water, or treetops/branches
• Silhouettes without distinctive, uncommon shape
• Buildings/townscapes, animals, flower/plant closeups, people, buildings, boats, cars, sculptures, fences, etc. EXCEPT as part of a larger permitted landscape. The more a photograph is "about" horses/buildings/roads etc., the less it belongs here.
• Cairns, inukshuks, or other rock piles EXCEPT for stones placed long ago and stones placed by Indigenous people for traditional purposes
• Action photos (skiing, fishing, etc.) where the action is the clear purpose of the photo
• "I was there" photos (your hands/feet, light-painting)
• Non-photographs: no paintings, drawings, etc., including photographs of them. This rule includes AI images. This is a group for photography, not other artforms.
• Protest images and announcements
• Holiday cards
• General spam

2. Do NOT resubmit denied photos or remove and resubmit photos.

And also:
• Be polite in your discussion postings and in messages to administrators or moderators.
• Do not use the group to sell products.
• Discussion is only for landscape photography and questions about the group.

Banning and Removal
New members who clearly break these rules may be banned. Any member who breaks these rules may be removed from the group. Previously removed members who break these rules may be banned.

A Last Note
Please take some time to enjoy the photos in the pool, not only to contribute to it! It is full of beautiful landscape photography. Discussion of landscape photography is welcomed.
