Does anyone know any reallly good kingfisher sites because I have dreamed of getting a kingfisher shot in flight/fishing. Where I go though there is little water visible and they fish elsewhere. PS: I am 11 years old and have a canon eos 7d and 100-400mm.

I go to the Loder Valley Nature Reserve in Wakehurst Place.

If you are near the Lee Valley then I would suggest RSPB Rye Meads. The KFs there are currently feeding young. Fledging ETA 25th May.....You will get good close up views....

They do show well at Loder Valley, but you wont get decent photo`s as they are too far away Charlie.

That is a serious bit of kit for an 11 year old boy to own, have you robbed a bank ?

Anyone who knows a good place to photograph these birds will keep the location to themselves !!

Very true Aaron talking to a guy yesterday who posted about a very friendly Kingfisher on the local pond why not he said everybody should enjoy it problem being if it is swamped it may fly away and you may attract silly fools
