Nikon D90- this camera is my first DSLR, love the intuitive dials on the grip, fast auto focus, low light high is0 capabilities, battery goes forever, 8 gig card takes 500 raws- its a good deal for the price.

Cheers

Canon EOS 40D. The camera is too big for hiking and skiing and active leisure. I must have a compact camera too. But I like my 'dinosaur'. It has a viewfinder which is more convenient for my eye than just a screen display.

I have 266 cameras but I gravitate around the Nikon D-50 for digital and between the Canon AE-1p or Nikon FG for film.

Canon EOS 500D with 18-55 Kit Lens.
Sony DSC H5.
The sony is far far better in case of IQ !!! may be because of the Carl Zeis lens ??

All my digitals are Canon - either EOS 350d or Powershot Pro1 (2 of each).
Got a bigger variety of film cameras, but I don't supposed you want to know about them.

Olympus. They make the lightest weight and smallest size in each category.

Canon 40D here too .. but I've been drooling over Leica M9 (I will just have to keep on dreaming about it) and I also thinking of Fuji Finpix x100 ( www.dpreview.com/news/1009/10091910fujifilmx100.asp) .. looks like this one might just be a reality :-D

Four years ago I bought the Rebel xti. Two years ago I bought a Canon 50D. This week I bought the 5D Markll. Haven't had time to try it out yet :-(
Since we're on the subject, does anyone know where I might be able to sell my camera? Too bad we don't have an equipment buy, sell, trade here on this site :-)

canon g10...also work with 3 gopro heros on my harley
I luv this camera..have lost a few..but not this one
it is built like the old nikons or asahis..the case is tough!
cant beat the 14.7mega pixel!
Easy to shoot with one hand if i am on my harley.
Takes great video too!
I am Canonian with an Eos 60D and lens kits Ef 50 mm F1.8 II, Tamron 10-24 wideangle lens and Sigma 70-300 APO DG.

I tend to use also Gradient filter and Hoya ND4 filters for bright sky and cool DOF for portraits, water motion, etc...

At the present time I use an Olympus E-420 for convience. However, when I want to get down to real business and get some quality material I break out the Mamiya c 330 f or the Bronica ECTL. Now I shall be chastised and castigated by the digital community. Ahhh Well.,

I'm using the Nikon D7000 with 50mm f/1.8, 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 non-VR and 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6 VR lenses. This is one hell of a camera that I'll recommend to anyone.

It's got quite a lot of features such as 39 point autofocus which is surprise at such a price, full RGB 2016px color metering, 100% viewfinder coverage, 6fps continuous shooting, two user settings memory, dual memory card slot (a big advantage), powerful battery, a very good high ISO performance " www.flickr.com/photos/brian19869/6022469442/meta/in/photo... ", it's got some a magnesium alloy body with weather sealing, dual IR sensor for remote shutter trigger and of course fits in my hands pretty well even with my long fingers :P...

fully recommendable camera. Just love it

I'm using the Olympus OM-D. ABSOLUTELY loving this camera! I decided I wanted to get into photography and bought a Panasonic GX1 which was a lot of fun, but the OM-D performs so much better. Maybe my craft has improved but I've gotten quite a bit more attention since switching. I've got a lot of lenses. My current wish list include the Olympus 75mm which is one of the sharpest lenses I've ever seen.
I am using 5D classic, and I am immensely pleased with it. I use 35mm f2 Lens, and 100mm f2.8 Macro for macroworks as well as portraits and I own 24-70 f2.8L USM

Hi,

I've just upgraded from a Canon EOS 450D to an EOS 5D Mk III which I'm still learning to handle effectively. I have a 24-70mm f2.8 and a 100-400 f4.5-5.6 as my two main lenses.

I use the Fuji HS50, I love it. I may be criticised by some for using a bridge camera, but I would make two points;
1. I agree with Pat Durkin
2. Refer to point one.

Most of my shots in the group are with a Sony DSLR-A700. My favorite lens is a Zeiss 16-80/3.5-4.5. I'm using a Sony SLT-A77V now.

I have a Canon SL1 with a 50mm f/1.4
Its great for some street photography and very basic stuff, being a rebel camera. Possibly its most redeeming quality is the tiny form factor it can supply while still using an EOS mount. For someone's very first DSLR, it might be an option, but it really depends on the budget. The Lens i have, the 50mm f/1.4 is fantastic. at F4 and above is super sharp, and the super low f stop helps with low light, despite a little chromatic aberration. For a high school student, I think I have a pretty good setup for practicing photography
My workhorse is the Olympus OM-D E-M5 with fast highquality prime lenses from Olympus Zuiko. That combination is light but with amazing image quality - perfect for hikes kilometres away...
Visit my profile, than you can see the results! :-)

Best regards, Fabian

I have changed my camera since I last posted I bought a Sony A37, sold the Fuji and as much as I loved the old camera I would not go back. I don`t need the long zoom, I owned the Fuji for just over a year and looking at the pictures taken in that time I realised wide to mid is fine for me. I also upgraded the kit lens to a 16-105 zoom, (24-157.5 35mm equivalent), in addition to that I also have an older Minolta 70-210 that I very rarely use.
I haven`t changed my mind about who over what, takes the picture but I do concede the quality of reproduction of your vision can(but not always) be dependant on equipment used.

Using the Nikon D610 with Nikkor AF-S 28-300 f/3.5-5.6G ED VR lens, and Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 20mm f1.8G ED lens. This camera challenges me, in that it rewards good technique, will reveal poor skill, and has more capability than any of the film or digital cameras I've ever used before.
Yes, recommended for those who are ready to step up to full frame, because it is among the most affordable of this type. Not as a starter camera!
Any camera will take a picture, the skillful user of the camera is most important.
