Lens Repair?

nathanrhoades PRO 2:00am, 19 August 2010
Was using my Tokina 12-24 last night at the State Fair Photo Contest and it crapped out! I'm getting "Error 01" messages on my camera (my 50D) and it tells me to clean the contacts on the lens which does not work!

Anybody know a good repair shop that is local and cheap???

I can change the bulb in your flash. I haven't tackled lenses yet.
Does it make any noise when you shake it?
Do all of the contacts look and feel the same?

I used THK when my tokina needed repair. I know it is not local, but they were reasonable in pricing and time to repair.

To Shelbys comment here ya go: Here some jokes from different sites i thought t were entertaining...............................
"Dad can I borrow the camera? No son, it's not a camera it's a Nikon!"
......................
Two photographer friends meet on a street corner. One mentions that he'd just seen a man lying in an alley who was clearly starving and in dire straits.

What did you give him?, the other photographer asked...

"1/250s @ f/8"
.................................
"Nippon Kogaku actually produced all of Canon's lenses up to mid-1947; therefore all prewar and early postwar Canons came with Nikkor lenses."
........................................
How do you know E.T. is a Nikon user?

Because he looks like one.
Nat, did you try taking it to Roberts and let someone there look at it?
