I am trying to make a certificate to commemorate our son's first haircut.
Here is the one from the hair do place. The things I don't like about it are too numerous to list. ( it's a fill in the blanks advertisement, with a crappy pic, to start)

What I do want;
One or two of my pics on it.
Some words, possibly two different fonts.
Some type of themed back ground (kinda like this one).

Anyone know where to start?
I have Adobe design premium cs4, I just don't know how to use it.
I am not PS savy, I would probably have to download fonts? and backgrounds?

Any help would be appreciated!

I know that MS Word has certificate templates and clip art, and you can download free ones from their website, but not sure if they are cheesy or not. Maybe that would give you some ideas. I wish I knew more about CS4/photoshop...

Keep us posted on what you come up with! Can't wait to see it!

You can use PS. However, depending on what fonts, backgrounds etc you want, you will have to download them if you don't have them on your computer. Try youtube - I did a search for "photoshop digital scrapbooking" and there were some good videos that could help you along.

Keep us updated. I would love to see what you came up with. I may try something this weekend just to see if I can do it! Great challenge!

You can totally use PS to make one. You can google free digital scrapbooking stuff and get tons of fonts and things.

I just made a birthday card invitation for a friend and used PS elements 7. I found stuff on the net and used the 2 pictures she gave me.

It's a Yo Gabba Gabba theme, so keep that in mind. lol

lots of fun stuff here...
I think you get a free template of the month
(but you can download any of the free templates!)
I can't remember but I think this is a nice site with tutorials...
I go to so many, I can't keep them straight!!

This is my first attempt.
First Haircut

I used It went pretty fast once I figured out where the free things were.
The only problem is, printing, resolution does not support an 8x10.
I think it might be time for CS4!

That is too cute! He looks like you. ;)

Yeah if you make it in photoshop you can set the resolution.
