There are some amazing photographers wandering the Houston Museum of Natural Science's halls, capturing images of the wonders on display here that rival the subjects themselves.

We've been so impressed and inspired with the images you've all submitted here, that we're featuring one every month over at our blog, BEYONDbones.

It was tough to choose the first one, but AlphaTangoBravo's Leaf's Eye View absolutely blew us away - and he was kind enough to let us share it, too.

So, thank you for showing us what you see here - we'll be looking for next month's feature, so we hope you'll continue to share your museum shots with us.

We're very excited to share our second Flickr photo of the Month on the HMNS blog, BEYONDbones. I hope you'll visit to check out emmiegrn's amazing photo Rice Paper Butterfly. If you do visit the blog, you can read emmiegrn's tips on getting so unbelievably close to these notoriously shy creatures.

It's really difficult to choose just one photo each month - (especially since the Assignment Houston meetup here in August added hundreds of stunning images to the pool) - as every photo shared impresses us in one way or another and every one makes us look at this museum a little differently - so, I just want to say thank you again to everyone for sharing your photos in the HMNS pool and to emmiegrn for allowing us to share her photo with our blog readers as well.

We're very excited to share our third Flickr photo of the Month on the HMNS blog, BEYONDbones. I hope you'll visit to check out bryan.dawson's amazing photo Museum Reflected. It's a striking portrayal of something most people don’t examine too closely - the globe on the tip of our sundial. You can read bryan.dawson's thoughts on the composition here.

Every photo that's shared impresses us in one way or another and every one makes us look at this museum a little differently - so it's really difficult to choose just one photo each month - (especially since the Assignment Houston meetup here in August added hundreds of stunning images to the pool). If there is one we've missed - let us know! And thank you again for sharing your photos in the HMNS pool.

I hope you'll check out our fourth Flickr Photo of the Month on the HMNS Blog, BEYONDbones - the dramatic, yet playful, "Dino Shadows" by laanba - it's a photo that "sneaks up on you" and we love it. It's just such a personalizing touch for this famous dinosaur. You can read laanba's thoughts on the photo here.

Special thanks to laanba for allowing us to share her photo on our blog - and to all of you for posting your photos in the HMNS pool on Flickr.

Our fifth Photo of the Month just posted on the HMNS blog, BEYONDbones - Hemis-face by KenU Diggit?

It's a fascinating image that presents the artifact - a Windmaker mask, circa 1875 - 1900 - in a dramatically different light from how it appears on display. Kenu Diggit? share his thoughts on the shot here - I hope you'll check it out, online and in person.

Special thanks to KenU Diggit? for allowing us to share his photo on our blog - and to all of you for posting your photos in the HMNS pool on Flickr.

Special thanks to wheelcipher for allowing us to share his photo on our blog - and to all of you for posting your photos in the HMNS pool on Flickr.

Congratulations to etee, whose photo was chosen as our seventh Flickr Photo of the Month. Captured using a lensbaby, it's a really unique shot of the Museum's iconic T. rex - and you can check it out, as well as read etee's thoughts on this shot on the HMNS blog, BEYONDbones.

etee was also kind enough to share the news on his blog. You can see lots of other great lensbaby shots - including some featuring a set of very cool dinosaur figurines - on his photostream.

A great big thank you to etee, for allowing us to share his photo on our blog - and to all of you for posting your photos in the HMNS pool on Flickr. I hope to see you all at our Wikipedia Loves Art meetup this Sunday. (What's Wikipedia Loves Art, you ask? I am so very glad you asked.)
