I hope everyone will forgive me for a blatant bit of promotion but I thought that members within reasonable distance of Edinburgh might be interested in coming along on one of the RSPB's Seabird Cruises on the Firth of Forth. As well being a great way of seeing the birds, it's an opportunity to use your photographic skills as the 'Maid of the Forth' sails close by the islands of Inchgarvie, Inchcolm, Inchkeith and Inchmikkery and you also get great views of Edinburgh from the sea ! I do the commentary on a number of the cruises, so hopefully look forward to seeing to seeing some of you over the next 3 months.

RSPB Firth of Forth Seabird Cruises

RSPB Scotland is delighted to be able to offer a great opportunity to cruise the inner islands of the Forth and experience close-up views of seabirds including gannets, fulmars, eiders, kittiwakes, terns and the ever-popular puffins ! There's always a good chance of seeing perergrine, manx shearwaters and the odd skua and we've seen roseate tern on a number of cruises in the past. Seals are usually spotted basking on the rocks, and there's even a chance that dolphins might be around. RSPB staff will be on hand to point out all of the wildlife, and you can even relax with a drink on board once you've had your fill of the stunning wildlife.
