A Friendly Reminder: Food Porn Abusers will be banned from the group! We want to see local & sustainable COMMUNITIES!

Group Description

It seems like there is always a whole community that pops up around how folks get good healthy foods.

Perhaps it is a Farmer's Market or a Food Co-Op or even the Farm itself. It could be a big corporate store like Whole Foods or Wild Oats. But it is where you go to buy your good Organic / Hormone-Free / Free Range foods. You know everyone that works there, maybe your always hanging out at the Fair Trade Coffee bar. Maybe you are involved in feeding those less fortunate and bringing them healthy meals.

This group is for pictures related to HEALTHY FOOD + COMMUNITY. Photographs must have BOTH elements or please do not post them here. This is not a pool for "food porn" or food photography with no community oriented context. We are not trying to be mean but there are countless flickr groups which people can post food pictures.
Areas of interests that fall in this this group in the area of community are:
Co-Ops
Community Farming
Healthy Restaurants / Coffee Shops (dishes with descriptions and locations)
Kitchens dedicated to feeding the poor or homeless
Locally grown & Raised foods
Grocery Stores
Food Banks
Community Picnics
Healthy Cooking Classes
Food Not Bombs

When posting it is also preferred to give a short description of what is going on in the picture and how it relates to your local healthy food community. You can add the description in the description area or in the title or by just adding a tag or two. Remember only half of the context of this group is visual the other half is learning and understanding local healthy communities.

UPDATED
We welcome highlight local and organic food but due to an overwhelming number of food porn shots (shots of just food with no or little VISUAL context to the group) we are implementing that shots added to the HFC group be posted in 3 or less other Flickr group pools. Most of the food porn spamming we are receiving are from pictures posted to 5+ other pools at the same time as ours. This will allow for the occasional solo food pic by active members but discourage a high number of low context picture dumps.
The best way to post the occasional food porn shot is to give a great description about where you got it, including location information and geotagging and maybe a story to go along with it to give the picture depth and context.

There is a limit of 10 photos posted to the pool per week. Please make your photo additions to the group count. We are looking for quality, context and meaning over quantity of pictures.

Please try to comment on a few photos in the pool when you post. We all love comments and community is built through communication :-)

You can use this code when you comment on photos that you see here:

Please invite other photos that you see on Flickr that would fit in here. You can use this code.

This photo would fit into the <a href="https://www.flickr.com/groups/healthyfoodcomm/">Healthy Food Community</a> pool perfectly.

Healthy Restaurants / Coffee Shops (dishes with descriptions and locations)

Please put the community aspect of your photo in your title, description or tags, It does not matter where you make us aware of the community aspect just so long as it is there. If you post a picture of a farmer tell us it is a farmer so that we are not like who is that? If food is organic or fair trade state it somewhere so that we know.
