GMiF v2.3

The new version 2.3 is released, and some new features are added.

1. Add the owner's geotagged photostream below the map.
You can click the photo thumb to move the map to the location of it. You can also click the buttom 'First/Prev/Next/End' to see more photos thumbs in the stream.

2. Display the city on map where the photo owner lives in.
GMiF gets the lat/lon info of the city where the owner lives from the user profile. The owner needs to set his current living city as the following pattern: City (lat, lon)

e.g. San Francisco (37.772343,-122.444687)

3. 'Fly To' button and {FLYTO_KML} macro now use RobRoyAus's FlickFly instead of my simple kml script.
4. Upgrade to maps.14.js. The embedded map can be shown in Hybrid mode now.

Download GMiF 2.3 - webdev.yuan.cc/gmif/flickr.gmap.user.js

Unfortunately, the greasemonkey still stays in 0.3.5, so following capabilities remain broken: 1. post to geobloggers; 2. add comments; 3. get nearby photos.

Err.. it seems to come up for me with lots of javascript alerts with numbers in (1, 2, 2, 1, 3 - stuff like that) which happens everytime I go to a picture! argghh!
Sam Judson PRO 11 years ago
The only line I can find in the code is line 1157. therefore the numbers must be the xmlhttp ready state...

I am so sorry, Sam.
I was too careless and forgot to remove the msg after I finished debugging.

Please re-install the script. The bugs are all fixed. BTW, darkrob & CC, you might want to update the script. Some minor bugs just were fixed.

I can't see the geotagged photostream and all the buttons at the bottom. I got GMiF 2.3, what else do I need?

Thanks.

guu,

You don't need anything else except greasemonkey.

The stream shows geotagged photos belonging to the owner of current photo. Even an owner doesn't have any geotagged photo, the buttons should still appear. Can you check the Javascript console for me?

Thanks.

Love the photostream at the bottom - really cool.

I'm sorry. It should be ok now. Please re-install the script.
NÜRNBERGER_BRATWURST [deleted] 11 years ago
Reinstall won´t fix it. I deinstalled the wohle firefox browser and deleted my profile. After setting up a clean installation the skript works perfectly. Seems that there are problems with old config-entries.

I didn't go as far as that, only uninstalled GM. That fixed it. Problem seems to be with the config. Anyhow, GM 5 beta is out :)

darkrob,

I apologize for your inconvenience.
And I've been testing GM 0.5 beta for two days and try to back to use GM APIs in GMiF. So far GM 0.5 works fine.

So I install/uninstall GM0.3.5/0.5 back and forth. I guess I mess up some codes when testing GM 0.5.

I'm having troubles with "post to geobloggers" features. It is only me or a common problem?

The problem is that sometimes the photo is posted to geobloggers and sometimes isn't.
Captain Chickenpants PRO 11 years ago
It is currently broken due to the greasemonkey security issue.

'Post to geobloggers' feature calls the XMLhttpRequest function to connect "http://www.geobloggers.com" and wait for response. It's not a real xml request nor a web service, but only open an http connection to the server. The response is not reliable. Geobloggers.com checks HTTP referer to catch the lat/lon info from flickr. If you check the "geobloggers.com" web site after "posting to geobloggers" in GMiF, you will see your photo has already posted, even a failure message was popup.

GM 0.5 beta is released. I've tested it and GM APIs works normally. I am working on a new version of GMiF to utilize the GM API and will probably announce later.

Sorry about that. That'll teach me to leave Flickr open on my laptop and walk away. :)

The latest version is GMiF v3.5.

To install GMiF, just click the link - webdev.yuan.cc/gmif/flickr.gmap.user.js, then install the script. After installed, you will see a "GMap" button above the flickr photo. A simple tutorial is here.
