PLEASE TELL EVERYONE YOU KNOW ABOUT THIS!

This is from Saturday but my employment situation has driven me away from RSS for a moment or two. America Online has announced that they have changed their terms of service. This will allow AOL to use any and all information a user sends over the AIM client in any way they see fit without even telling the end user their content will be utilized.

Tempting to remove a AIM account from Trillian if you ask me. What does this hold for the future of ICQ, and more importantly what was the cause of action behind all of this?

Quoting the Official Terms of Service page:

'by posting Content on an AIM Product, you grant AOL, its parent, affiliates, subsidiaries, assigns, agents and licensees the irrevocable, perpetual, worldwide right to reproduce, display, perform, distribute, adapt and promote this Content in any medium. You waive any right to privacy. You waive any right to inspect or approve uses of the Content or to be compensated for any such uses.'
