Group Description

Hey #FlickrHeroes!
We love your photos and we’re looking for new ways to promote you. Each week, we replace the Cover Photos (aka Hero Images) on our Flickr social media channels, so we thought, why not create a group and seek your submissions directly here.

Every Saturday morning (CET), we’ll announce on our social media channels that we’re searching for new #FlickrHeroes to replace our Cover Photos on Flickr’s Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn channels.

On Monday, we’ll select one photo to put on Facebook, and a second photo to put on Twitter and LinkedIn. We’ll announce that you’re the new cover photo for the week and we’ll link to your photo on Flickr.

The photos will be chosen based on aesthetics, but also with some consideration to the restrictions we have with the dimensions that work best on the channels. Panoramic images or wide crops of images will look best on Twitter, while Facebook tend to give us more flexibility.

By adding your photos to the group, you will be granting us non-exclusive rights use your image/s as Cover Photos and to crop them within reason to fit the required dimensions. Please see the expanded legalese in the Group Rules.

¡Hola #FlickrHeroes!

Nos encantan vuestras fotos y estamos buscando nuevas formas de promocionarlas. Cada semana Flickr cambia la foto de portada de sus redes sociales (hero image, en inglés). Por eso pensamos ¿por qué no creamos un grupo donde nuestros usuarios puedan enviar sus propuestas directamente?

Cada sábado por la mañana (hora central europea) publicaremos en nuestras redes sociales el anuncio que avisa de que buscamos nuevos #FlickrHeroes para reemplazar la foto de portada de Flickr en Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.

El lunes seleccionaremos la foto que será portada de Facebook y una segunda foto que servirá de encabezado para Twitter y LinkedIn. Después anunciaremos el ganador de la semana y compartiremos el enlace a su foto en Flickr.

La elección de las fotos se basará en la estética, pero también tendremos en cuenta las restricciones de tamaño y las dimensiones que funcionan mejor para cada plataforma. Las imágenes panorámicas o más anchas, funcionarán mejor para Twitter. Facebook suele ser más flexible.

Si decides añadir tus fotos al grupo, nos estás garantizando el derecho no exclusivo a usar tu imagen como foto de portada, y a recortar o ajustar su tamaño dentro de unos límites razonables para que puedan encajar bien dentro de las dimensiones requeridas. Por favor, consulta los términos legales en las Reglas del Grupo.

Bonjour et salut à tous les héros de Flickr !

Nous souhaitons trouver les meilleurs moyens pour mettre en avant vos photos, parce que nous les aimons ! Chaque semaine, nous changeons l’image de couverture de nos pages Flickr sur les réseaux sociaux et nous avons pensé : “pourquoi ne pas créer un groupe pour vous permettre d’y contribuer ?”

Chaque samedi matin (CET), nous annonçons, sur nos pages Flickr sur les réseaux sociaux, que nous cherchons une nouvelle image #FlickrHeroes (Flickr héros) pour remplacer l’image de couverture des pages Facebook, Twitter et LinkedIn de Flickr.

Dès lundi, nous sélectionnons une photo choisie pour être en couverture de nos pages Facebook, et une autre pour être mise en avant sur nos pages Twitter et LinkedIn. Nous annonçons ensuite sur Flickr Blog et sur nos pages quelles sont les photos élues de la semaine (avec un lien direct vers les photos).

Les photos sont choisies en fonction de leur esthétisme mais aussi en fonction de leurs dimensions pour correspondre à l’image de couverture de nos pages. Bon à savoir : pour l’image de couverture de Twitter, nous vous recommandons de partager des photos panoramiques ou larges, pour celles de Facebook et LinkedIn les dimensions sont plus flexibles.

En ajoutant vos photos au groupe, vous acceptez de nous accorder des droits non-exclusifs pour une utilisation de votre image en photo de couverture, ainsi que le droit de la redimensionner si nécessaire. Pour en savoir plus, rendez-vous sur les Règles du Groupe.

Hallo Flickr-Helden!

Wir lieben eure Fotos und deshalb suchen wir immer nach neuen Möglichkeiten, sie zu zeigen. Jede Woche tauschen wir das Cover-Foto (auf Englisch ‚Hero Image‘ genannt) in unseren sozialen Netzwerken aus. Da dachten wir uns, warum erstellen wir nicht gleich eine Gruppe und laden euch ein, eure Fotos dort zu posten?

Jeden Sonntagmorgen beginnt die Suche nach den neuen #FlickrHeroes und den neuen Cover-Fotos für die Flickr-Seiten auf Facebook, Twitter und LinkedIn.

Am Montag wählen wir dann ein Foto für Facebook aus und ein zweites Foto für Twitter und LinkedIn. Wir verkünden daraufhin von wem das neue Cover-Foto stammt und linken zum jeweiligen Foto auf Flickr.

Wir wählen die Fotos nach ästhetischen Gesichtspunkten aus, allerdings müssen wir auch auf die Formatvorgaben der jeweiligen Seiten achten. Breite Panoramaansichten oder Bildausschnitte sind gut für Twitter und Tumblr, Facebook und LinkedIn+ lassen uns beim Format ein bisschen mehr Freiraum.

Indem ihr eure Fotos zur Gruppe hinzufügt, gebt ihr Flickr das nicht-exklusive Recht euer Foto zu verwenden und ggf. das Format moderat zu verändern, um es den jeweiligen Seitenvorgaben anzupassen. Bitte lest auch die ausführlichen Regeln in der Gruppenbeschreibung.

Todo sábado de manhã (CET), vamos anunciar em nossos canais de mídias sociais que estamos procurando por novos #FlickrHeroes para substituir nossas fotos de capa nos canais do Flickr do Facebook, Twitter e LinkedIn.

Na segunda-feira, vamos selecionar uma foto para o Facebook, e uma segunda foto para o Twitter e LinkedIn. Vamos anunciar que você foi escolhido como a nova capa da semana e linkar para a sua foto do Flickr.

As fotos serão escolhidas baseadas em estética, mas também levaremos em consideração algumas restrições de dimensões que funcionam melhor para cada canal. Imagens panorâmicas e mais compridas ficam melhores no Twitter, enquanto o Facebook e LinkedIn podem nos dar um pouco mais de flexibilidade.

Group Rules

Please read and agree to these Group Rules before submitting your photos to the “Flickr Heroes” group (“Group”) hosted on the Flickr service (“Flickr”).

1. Flickr and this Group are run by SmugMug, Inc. and its subsidiaries and affiliates, including Fantastic Fox, Inc. (“SmugMug”) and by joining this Group you agree to these terms and conditions, which will at that time and thereafter be binding between you and SmugMug.

2. Photo(s) that you submit to the Group are referred to as “Content.” You retain ownership to any Content you submit to the Group, however, you grant SmugMug a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license (but not the obligation), with the right to sublicense, use, distribute, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, publicly perform and publicly display such Content (in whole or in part) in connection with: (a) SmugMug Services, including syndication of SmugMug Services meaning distribution of a SmugMug product on a third party site, service, product, application or platform; (b) promotion of the Group via SmugMug owned media properties and third party social media platforms; and (c) advertising and promotional activity for SmugMug Services (in all mediums and any media now known or hereafter developed,) including but not limited to, social media efforts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram), blog posts, Flickr galleries via links to social media efforts, email communications, and PR efforts (press affiliates via broadcast and digital). “SmugMug Services” is defined as the collection of resources and offerings made available by SmugMug, including without limitation various apps, products, communications tools, forums, and retail services.

3. By adding this Content to the Group, you represent and warrant to SmugMug that: (a) you are at least 18 years old; (b) your Content is an original work by you; (c) your photos are free from any third party rights; and (d) you have the full right and authority to grant the rights herein granted in all media throughout the universe and that no one else's permission is required. You also hereby waive the benefits of any provision of law known as Moral Rights or Droit Moral or any similar law.

4. Content that breaches or violates SmugMug Terms & Conditions of Use or Community Guidelines will be removed. Further if an editor deems your submission unacceptable, your Content will be removed from the Group.

5. To the extent SmugMug uses your Content on SmugMug Services, and, to the extent feasible, SmugMug will include an attribution crediting you with a link to your photo on Flickr. The attribution will refer to your Flickr screen name.

6. You consent to allow SmugMug to contact you through Flickr Mail regarding any inquiry SmugMug might have related to your submission to the Group.

7. Valid entry to the Group is dependent on registration and maintenance of an active Flickr account.

8. SmugMug is not obligated to use or display the Content submitted by members of the Group in connection with SmugMug Services. SmugMug shall not be liable for any entrant’s loss of publicity or enhancement of reputation. Moreover, SmugMug reserves the right to cancel the Group at any point in time.

9. If you ever decide you no longer want to participate, just remove your Content from the Group and your Content will no longer be shown on SmugMug, provided, however, SmugMug may continue to use any Content it is already using pursuant to the license granted under Section 2. If you wish to remove the Content and SmugMug is making use of such Content, SmugMug will make an effort to comply with your request to remove the Content on a case-by-case basis. Should you have any questions about how to remove your Content from the Group, please contact one of the Group administrators.

10. This agreement shall, for all purposes, be governed by and interpreted and enforced in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of laws provisions. You agree to and will hereby submit to the personal and exclusive jurisdiction of the State and federal courts located within the county of Santa Clara, California.

11. SmugMug may update these rules from time to time. Such updates will be announced in the Group's admin blast section. All changes are effective upon posting on this page.

12. By submitting your Content to the Group you are deemed to have accepted these Group Rules.
