I created a couple group codes (group invites and appreciation).

I'm not very good at that sort of thing, but they are there now, for those inclined.

They are in the 'About' tab at the top of the group page. I'll try to make some better ones in future (no, I won't be making any big, sparkly ones!)

Currently, they look like this:

How do you go about inviting lots of people via the Flickr interface? I found it to be extremely cumbersome and time consuming. Is there a secret way?

Not that I know of. I don't think you can have an email distribution list or anything like that unfortunately (likely by design - to prevent fmail spam).

It's a little easier to send an invite to one of your contacts, rather than someone who isn't a contact. Once you type the first letter or two of the name, the (full) matching name of your contact appears, and you just hit enter, then type the first two letters of the name of the next contact you want to invite, etc.

If someone adds me as a contact, I usually add them as well. So I've gotten to know a lot of great people over the past few years and have a fairly large contact list :)

Other than that it's just a matter of getting the word out I guess - having your contacts invite their friends if they feel they know someone who might be interested, maybe making mention of the group etc. on an image that hits Explore, making mention in the discussion area of similar / related groups (if the admin allows that).

If anyone know of a better way though, I'd be happy to hear about it as well!
