For February, let’s each make two 12 ½” Squash Blossom blocks using the tutorial by Jodi/Tales of Cloth. Here’s a sample block made using a solid focal fabric and a white on white background.
Please make all blocks with just 2 fabrics – preferably bright white for the background (Kona Snow would be ok too, but no beige, tan, or two-color prints, please). For the colored portion, focus on the Pantone Color of the Year, Greenery.
I'm fine with solids, tone on tones, or green + a little white. Feel free to mix them within a block or stick with just solids or just prints. Here are the fabrics I've pulled for my second block, just as an fyi:
Print off a swatch of Greenery (here's the one I was working from: s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/564x/e6/f5/89/e6f589e5be2b8b... and choose green fabrics that either match or coordinate with it. Looking at my Kona color card, Parrot, Grass, and Chartreuse are what I’m looking for. Ideally, I'd prefer for your two blocks to use different green fabrics.
Sound good? Let me know if you have any questions!
