Is this normal? Focusing close at 70mm
My Canon EF 70-200 f2.8L IS USM would not reach the minimum focus distance of 4.6'/1.4m between 70 and 100mm range. At 70mm the close focus gets stuck at 6.2'/1.9m and it reaches 4.6'/1.4m only if I change the focal length to 100mm. From 100 to 200m it works perfectly ok in all the range from 4.6'/1.4m to infinity.
From 6.2'/1.9m to 4.6'/1.4m the close focus limit varies gradually as I move the the zoom ring from 70 to 100mm.
This is a mechanical issue as it happens with the lens detached from the camera.
The lens is in perfect conditions from 6.2'/1.9m to infinity in all focal lengths but I can only have acces to 4.6'/1.4m close distance between 100 and 200mm.
The IS and Focus Mode switches don't have anything to do with this issue as it behaves the same in all combinations and even with the lens detached from the camera.
Is this normal or is it an problem in the lens?
