Group DescriptionWHY I SET UP THIS GROUP & OTHER ... SCENES GROUPS
I have established a number of ... Scenes groups to try and show / record the immense range of scenery that exists in England. As a form of delineation between each ... Scenes group, I have used current local authority boundaries, as each local authority area can comprise a number of cities, towns and villages, it can include diverse countryside and coastline, and it can provide very varied and beautiful architecture (which can be local and totally unique in some cases).
I started the ... Scenes groups for those areas that I know personally, and have photos for myself so that I can show that I too can contribute.
WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR
I try to invite:
(a) different types of scene (industrial, countryside, urban, suburban, waterways, coastlines, buildings, people),
(b) different means of capture (SLR, DSLR, point-and-click, mobile phone, film, polaroid, etc.), and
(c) different decades / centuries.
WHAT I HOPE TO ACHIEVE FOR ALL VIEWERS / CONTRIBUTORS
By uploading photos so, I hope we can all show the depth and breadth of different scenes across any given local authority region. Lots of one type of shot isn't my preference. I look for the types of scenes that can typify (but is not limited to) a given area (e.g. hills and rocky outcrops in the Peak District, lakes in the Lake District, coals in Newcastle, etc. ... you get the picture).
What I hope to avoid is many shots of the same scene.
