Hi, i have an older version of DPHDR. I noticed there is a newer version out. Is there a way of ugrading it without having to pay since i simply cannot afford it? The version i have was given to me by a friend since i couldnt afford it then too, so i have no old registeration stuff.

I've had an older version for some time that I paid $39 for. The new version isn't a free upgrade as was the case in the past.

Honestly, why should you get a freebie while the author of the software gets nothing? I mean seriously, you stated that you didn't even pay for the version you have. No offence, I understand being broke and all, but how is that fair?

I guess it isnt fair...im a student, iv had my camera a month or two, iv already spent over £700 on it and other things for it after saving for months and cutting back on eating lunch and going out etc. It happens all the time with software, so sorry to upset you but im sure u can appreciate i have little money with lots of things to spend on and i only want to improve on my photography

You wont "improve your photography" by using a piece of HDR software, whether you pay for it or not, however good it is.

No. You'll get a price cut, and you get free upgrades within a release, but the next release is at least an upgrade price.

Same with Photoshop or any other software.

You can download a free trial of 4.0 from the www.mediachance.com site. I did and like the enchancements quite a bit.

You can also upgrade from version 3.0 or higher for only $25.00.

In terms of using a pirated version....remember that if someone ripped off one of your images, you'd be really mad.

This maybe heresy on this group but if money is tight you could try qtpfsgui, an open source hdr gizmo.

Personally if your money is so tight......then you should cut out internet access, tv and then keep only your cell phone or home phone but not both.

For internet access for free see your local library .
For tv ....read a book also see your local library .
By doing just these small things you can save $80 to $150 a month.

I hear people all day long at work tell me how they have no money,
but are not willing to give up extra cost such as these.

I can afford to upgrade but I haven't yet. I'm still having plenty of fun with version 3. Yes, the version 4 seems to be a good improvement but I can't see anything wrong with the 3 (considering you have the latest 3).
So you don't want to spend money nor pirate it... well, as you said, this is going nowhere.
