All,

We're looking for shots of park point for a website we're in the process of building around the effort to save park point from a commercial developer. He's hoping to build a 4 story hotel and bring in a "chain" restaurant. You probably know that already.

We're hoping to get:

- Shots on the point that have more of a community feel vs a complete focus on nature. Backyard BBQs, kids & dogs on the beach, the rummage sale, etc.

- Multiple shots to incorporate as part of the design via 980x227 pixel slideshow on the homepage.

- 1 very large image for the background at least 1024x768.

- As many smaller images as you can find.

Unfortunately not all will be used as part of the design but we'll certainly add everything that comes in to a gallery.

Please send anything you're willing to share in a .zip to icare@saveparkpoint.com. If there's quite a bit of interest we'll look into an FTP service.

Thanks for your time.

Regards,
Jake

Where abouts on Park Point? I think it would be good to have photos near the place they are wanting to develop.

I do not want to see a hotel / food chain built out there.

@Jason: Details of the location are on the site we're building (saveparkpoint.com). It's just a frame right now and we'll be adding more content about the project soon as well as completing the design (with DPG photos hopefully).

@ Jay: Definitely not. It's one thing if it were going to be a well designed very small boutique hotel with locally owned shops and a solid locally owned restaurant. Those things in my opinion do build community. Quite another considering the current plans. I don't live down there any more but surf there regularly and I still don't want to see any development. Plenty of vacant space downtown!

@All DPGers: If you support the fight please don't be shy. We have an online petition and facebook connect on the Beta site at saveparkpoint.com .

Thanks again DPG for your time and work.
