How about things people do to find inspiration and/or creativeness in ones self? For example, I'll watch music videos and I'll see a cool camera angle and lighting that I want looks wicked and I'll do a "remix" on it (sadly it never turns out as cool). I don't know...perhaps other's do some stuff like writing down their thoughts, draw the scene out, etc, etc,?
We could also talk about the different processing steps people do?
Just trying to think of some stuff to talk about, that's all. :)

Kara -- welcome to the group! Yes, we would all like to see you at the next meeting.
Just FYI -- point and shoot has its place, but SLR is the only way to go, especially if you are doing any serious work. You get far better quality (even with the very same MP rating) and far more options. Yup, but ya gotta dish out a bit extra $$ to get going with it.
But the Canon G11 comes close to SLR quality and options.
and I just downloaded a RAW file from Hasselblad the other day to see what 50 megapixels could offer compared to 12mp. Let's just say it brought tears to my eyes. I cropped and cropped and cropped and cropped. Haha! The TIFF file is 255 mb! Whew...that was like test driving a Ferrari. Only more fun! :) Just thought I'd share my experience.
As a newbie at last month's meeting I was asked if I'd be back, was planning to but I'll miss tonight since I'm down in the cities for a gallery show I have prints in. I hopefully see people around another day.
Question: For the Homegrown Music events coming up I take it they are open for people attending to photograph as much as they want?
