Does anyone have an old scanner they are looking to sell that will scan 4x5? It can suck a lot, I just want something that will scan it. Also, does anyone have a 1-degree spot meter they are looking to sell?

Danke,
Alex

I don't have one for sale, but I own a CanoScan 600F and I just love it. I think I paided around $70 a year or so ago, it scans up to 9600dpi, usb powered, and has a negative film attachment for high resolution scans. You can do 4x5 scans with it I'm guessing just fine, but you might be able to scan only at like 4800 or 2400 dpi

Does it comes with 4x5 negative holders? I have a scanner right now, problem is the scanning area is only large enough up until 120. I could merge two pieces in photoshop, but would just rather not.

o, sorry nvm. I forgot about negatives needing the backlight. It's a good scanner for 35s but won't work out of the box for 4x5s.

Nevermind. I guess UMD has an Epson 4990 tucked away in a different computer lab. But if anyone comes across a cheap one, new or used, let me know.

Sorry. I already sold my old one a few years ago.

And keep your dirty mitts away from my 1 degree spot meter. I bought it off a dead guy.

What model? And how much are you looking for it? If you are trying to sell?

Epson Perfection 4870 Photo -- and the more I think about it, the less inclined I am to sell it (even though I have not used it in quite a while.)

Borrow?

"Satan sold me a used incident meter."

Meh, I use my handheld incident meter more than my Spotmeter V. Still gonna hang on to it though (also, it lives in CA with me, now).

Thanks for the offer HBR. I'll keep it in mind!

You moved to Cali, Jason? How is the weather? And I <3 my incident meter, although it may be underexposing my readings by a half-stop. Should prolly re-calibrate that guy.

Alex,

Yep, I'm in the south bay (just north of San Jose, about 40 miles south of SF). If you ever make it out we will meet in SF for a beer.

I'm out here trying to build a tech company. I've been too busy to shoot photos lately, but I should have time again after March.

BTW, you COULD calibrate your meter, or you could just subtract half a stop like a REAL photographer! :-)

Woah, sounds awesome. I'll definitely get a hold of you if I ever make it that way. And shush, you thread dissenter (actually it has only been the last few rolls, and my camera "doesn't do half-stops" :) ).
