I am shooting a grad session which I will only have 45 minutes to shoot before sunset.

I have already shot Grad Sessions at the old train on railroad street near bayfront, old brick buildings along garfield ave and the old fishing pier down by UPS.

What I am looking for is something with Open Shade, industrial, grungy, etc... where I could shoot 3 different looks in a short period of time.

Was thinking of walking the alley's downtown since the brickwork and colors change every half block or so.

Anyone have any other suggestions?

Jake showed me a cool spot, it's the "Duluth Springs Co" building in canal park (drive down the left alley side of building facing downtown). Another good location is off of Garfield Avenue in Duluth, behind the empty ISD 709 building which has some old dilapidated garage doors with could make for good symmetry. Also if you drive past UPS down at the port terminal and continue on to the end of the road it will curve to the right and at the very end of that road you will see long green building with old unused shipping doors, i did a photo shoot there with a local band and was not bothered. Also in that same area (end of port terminal) is some other buildings that have exteriors that have been neglected. Oh, also underneath the Superior side of the Blatnik Bridge by Halvor Lines are a bunch of old buildings with aged brickwork on the exterior that ive been dying to use in a photo shoot. Good Luck! Hope this info helps.

Out of all of those spots I'd either recommend down by blatnik bridge by the "bayside sales" building or on Garfield avenue. If you like I'd be more than willing to guide you to some of my favorite spots, let me know if you're interested.

Thanks for the ideas. I am doing the shoot tomorrow night. Just found out today. LOL
I will probably take you up on the tour offer one of these days.

Just an FYI, The ISD709 building is actually still in use, I work for ISD709 and have to go there to retrieve stuff from storage from time to time. It's actually staffed.
