Another welcome!

I still see even more new members! Welcome to the group and drop us a note here to introduce yourself! Who are you? What is your favorite subject to photograph? What can this group do for you?

Again, it is a pleasure having you amongst us and we look forward to meeting you in person!

Hi, I'm Intimidated. Er, Liz. :)

I got an invitation to this group and came to look around, and oh boy, I see this place is for -real- photographers! All this talk about actual cameras with lenses and photo exhibitions, not to mention the actual pictures... *laugh* I walk around with a little digital camera and take random snapshots of things. Mostly outdoors - trees, parks, the lake, whatever I find. And I usually fall down at least once every time I go out...

But, this looks like a good place to learn things about photography, and study how other people do things. So, I'll stay and ogle. Is there a place where I can learn a bit more about what the DPG actually is? Or is staying and lurking the best way?

Everyone starts somewhere, I started with a 1.2 mp camera that stored images on a floppy disk......

The next group meeting I believe is on the 24th at the Green Mill. All are encourage to come.

Welcome to the group, don't be intimidated at all. There are no gear snobs here and everyone is more than willing to help.

Yo Liz. You'll definitely have to stay and lurk around to see the craziness that happens 'round these parts. Ha!

Thank you all, for the warm welcome. I feel less intimidated already! *chuckle*

This does look like a great place to nose about and learn things - and you all are so friendly! Though I dunno about the group meeting...perhaps I could set in a shadowy corner and watch? I admit to curiosity, but I think I'd be about as useful as, um, ok, I don't have a good analogy for something really useless. But I'm sure you understand!
Hi Liz,
You don't have to be informative, knowledgeable or vocal to attend a meeting. An interest in photography and the want to meet new people is all you really need.

I went to my first meeting last month. It's was awesome seeing everybody! You could always get/use a high powered zoom and sit across the street if your still intimidated when the next meeting rolls around.
