Step 1
Buy this www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?ci=0&shs=PHF...

Step 2
Go to Home Depot and buy PVC for the frame.

Step 3

Stick your speedlight behind this and shoot through it.
Or, use it for outdoor shoots on a sunny day.

I just ordered mine, for $22 and since there is no need to sew anything the price just seemed really, really reasonable. Also, PVC is really cheap.

That's cool, it can also be a big hassle to try to figure out what the DIY replacement parts are (probably lots of bickering about what the perfect fabric for a diffuser is on the 'net), and for $22... You'll have to show me when it's done.

Quick and Dirty test of the Semi-DIY Diffusion Panel

Step 1
Buy this www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?ci=0&shs=PHF...

Step 2
Go to Home Depot and buy PVC for the frame.

Step 3

Stick your speedlight behind this and shoot through it.
Or, use it for outdoor shoots on a sunny day.

I picked up some 1/2'' PVC from the local Hardware Store and Four 90 degree elbows and made the frame.

The diffusion material claims 39x72'' but I had to make the Final Assembled Frame dimension 38x69'' in order for it to fit.

Total cost with Diffusion Material and PVC = $28.00

SB-24 1/4 power approximately 3 feet behind the Panel.

I still have to put a brace in the middle for some added support, although it is fairly sturdy as is.

It isn't finished but you get the idea.
