I don't have a lot of experience with different types of photo software. But here's something I've noticed.

If I open an image in iPhoto, it usually looks kind of washed out.
If I open the same image in Photoshop, it looks way better.
I can improve how one of my images looks my simply opening it in Photoshop, then saving it.

Why is this?

I am pretty sure it has something to do with color space.
What color space is the image before it enters photoshop? Is it defaulting to sRGB when saving out of photoshop?

I can't really say, because my laptop is in the shop.

I'm with Shawn; I'm almost certain that that's the problem as well. What format?
