So those who have done weddings, what do you do next?

Do you have a way of putting them online so all the guests can see them and or purchase?

Do you just give the couple their prints and call it good?

Im looking more towards the "not a professional" response.

Step one: shoot, step two: edit, step three: profit!

i think what you do all depends on what the couple wants to pay for. Many photographers do give the bride and group a link allowing their guests to view pictures online and purchase if wanted.
Most couples want the photographer to develop their pictures so they don't have to deal with the stress of doing it themselves.

What i usually see is that the photographer takes what they've shot- go's through the images and gets rid of the obviously bad ones (i.e. blurry/ eyes closed/ etc) and then either sends the couple an online link or cd from which the couple chooses which photos they'd like printed off.

Right on, I would also like to know what people use to post online.

Pictage is like $99 a month, HA.

Nate, do you own a domain? If so, download jalbum, www.jalbum.net/download
there is also a skin that allows you to password protect the galleries. You can then upload the gallery to your web host and give the link to the clients.

I use shutterbug storefront for my customers...I set the prices, they pick what they want, order, pay online, then all the portaits are sent to them with my bussiness name on the back of the pictures...I did a test run for myself and was very happy with the prints! It is $64.00 per year.
As for weddings, I go through, get rid of the really bad stuff, then burn the pictures on a DVD and they get that...if they want edited, enhanced or what not, then that is extra. I hope that helps.

As for my wedding shooting to far, I've just gone through all the images, burn a cd of unedited jpgs for them, and a disc of edited print ready jpgs.

All for a low low cost of $19.95!
Did I mention if you call in the next 10 minutes I'll throw in a free keychain?!?!

Noreeyay - care to share your website? I use the lightroom gallery as well and am curious as to how yours looks compared to mine. I really want to get mine customized.

Nate, I forgot about this one.

Shawn T. Give me about 2 days. I just tore down the site because I just finish a new super nifty LR portfolio gallery. I'm actually using a combination of 2 galleries now. One for the main site and then then a paypal gallery on client log-in. I LOVE these ones!!! Super easy to use and look great,IMO.

I'm in class for 10hrs tomorrow so I wont have it up until Friday but I post a link then and dig up where I got them from.

No hurry.

Threw these together so you could check em out.

This is my main site template. Lots of options-colors, text, disable rt click and drag, ect. Has home page, contact, about, and up to 6 galleries. I changed one of the galleries to a client login.

www.echophotography.com/index.html

This is the paypal gallery clients get after login.

www.echophotography.com/paypal/index.html

Both are LR galleries so they are so easy to create and upload. It just gets a bit hairy when I want to change something that's not an option. So I have to go edit the source file to add the option I want and working with code gets old.
