Anyone.....Bueller........Bueller......Anyone......

If you have one that I could borrow, I would appreciate it. I wouldn't need it till October but I may want to test it out for a weekend before hand.

What kind of flash bracket are you looking for?
admin
I am a noob, I just want to use one of my Nikon Speedlights when I shoot my friend's Rehearsal Dinner and I can't use it in the hot shoe.

Ive got a cool one if you want to look at it. Its small, cant remember the brand name right now, but its quick to change from portrait to landscape.

I have a stroboframe that will mount the flash above the camera -- that is if you have 1) a screw mount "cold" shoe to attach to the bracket to be able to mount the flash on it, and 2) the chords to connect it to the camera.

I have the Nikon version of this, but that doesn't do you much good.

Dumb question, what good does this do you? Can you use manual flash?

Nate, if you are referring to my response, I use it mostly with my Quantum Qflash (which cannot be hot shoe mounted) but also it is useful because it will allow you to rotate your camera to portrait orientation and still keep the flash right above the lens.

Exactly what Brian just said and Yes you could still use it in manual if you wanted.

Also, my reasoning is that I don't want to carry around a light stand all night.

Oh come on.....

So as long as we are all here:

By using a bracket you can use any kind of flash you please, it doesnt have to be compatable your camera?

Do you connect via PC, OC cable, other?

Shawn if you can't find one it might be fun to try a strobe on a pole. David hobby has a write up about somewher on strobist

I believe you just connect it via PC cord or like a TTL hot shoe cord?

I checked it out Max and it is a great idea, just not suited for what I'll be doing.
Thanks though.
