I want to go to see collective soul...

The wife and I walked down, ~1.5 miles. Was turned away at the gate because I had a camera.

The walk back home and back down gave me enough time to cool down, until I went to buy my tour shirt and there was a soccer mom + kids with an A350 and a 70-200 F2.8 ahead of me in line. Give me a break.

Was a great show though, all the way around.

That sucks. I was wondering if cameras were allowed earlier today so I sent Craig Samborski ( an email with the following simple question.

Q: Any opportunity for photos?

His reply.

A: Yes, no flash and no pro rig.

my thoughts on the show

1] i was turned down my first parking spot in an empty lot because apparently i would have been towed, according to the parking biotch, but there wasn't a sign anywhere saying i couldn't park there

2] because of trying to find another spot, i missed collective soul play 'heavy' and that sucked

3] collective soul started at 6:30 instead of 7 like the ticket said. also lame

4] no 'professional' cameras. i think i might buy a g7 or something cuz i go to so many concerts and can never take any pictures at them

5] all 3 bands were phenomenal live though. for a while i thought live wasn't going to play 'lightning crashes' and that would have been lame to the max, but they did and i was very pleased with the performances and had a good time

Well what the hell is considered pro?

I missed all but 2 songs from Collective Soul because I had to journey back home : /

Didnt say anything on the ticket or the website.

I also saw cops turning away P&S's
Sounds to me like no security members were briefed on the Camera Policy.

Guys, you need to start carrying a MAN BAG. Then you put your camera at the bottom, cover it with something, and then you are good to go.

They"ll ask you to open your bag and then look into it. They cant dig through it. You just have to then watch out for security while you are snapping pics during the concert.

Or if you have a female friend with you, have her carry it.

Side note: you can also sneak in alcohol that way you dont pay $5. for a beer.
Tina is SMART.
A Messenger Bag would work awesome.
Great thinking

Man, i wish I would have gone now... I always enjoy collective soul live. Did CS or live hint at any songs from a new album?

All 3 did. I know both Live and B.T. played new songs. At least I think Live did.......

Nate its too bad that your wife didn't carry the bag. They normally dont even think twice about a girl carrying a big bag. I get into concert all the time with a big bag full of goodies.

I always get asked to open my bag and they just look in but never touch.
Also if you are bringing in liquids in a juice bottle for example, and they tell you cant have it, you can say you are a Diabetic and that you have to have it just in case, they cant stop you.

Just a few tips for ya!
