Street & Studio
An Urban History of Photography

Tate has partnered Flickr and Blurb to invite you to contribute your own urban portrait to a unique photo book, "Street or Studio".

To submit your photograph, add it to the Street or Studio group on Flickr before 27 July 2008. Full instructions .

You can add up to two of your street or studio portraits to the Street or Studio Flickr group.

All submissions will be posted and shared on Tate Online and displayed on a screen in the gallery.

After submissions close on 27 July, 100 photographs will be selected by a panel of curators, artists, photographers and others to form the book. The 100 will also form a slideshow in the gallery and be archived on Tate Online as part of the exhibition's website.

The book will be produced using Blurb, the creative self-publishing platform. If your photograph is selected for inclusion, you will receive a copy. Once it is produced, further copies of the book will be available through the Blurb Bookstore .

Got this e-mail today.

We've always had a thing for our square books – while their size may be a little out of the ordinary, that's what makes them so fun! You've made one, so you know what we're talking about. You also asked us to bump up the quality on these guys, so from now on we'll be showing our 7x7 books the same love as their rectangular counterparts.

Starting today, we'll be printing all our 7x7 books on the same HP Indigo printers as the rest of our books.

Based on the above e-mail, I temporarily void my own opinion that Blurb print quality sucks until I can see a book that is printed on the big-boy printers, as my opinion was originally based off a viewing 7x7 book printed on the kiddie machine.
