Bell & Howell

I bought this Bell & Howell 252 8mm Video Camera yesterday at a garage sale for $5.

Photobucket

I was wondering if anyone had ever used one... not to make anyone feel old, but it's not from my time. I'd like to see if I could find cassettes for it, but I don't know if that's possible. And then if I did get it to work, I'd have to find a projector somewhere ^-^

Nonetheless I'm glad I found it..... not to mention it's fucking cute as hell.

I really want to get some sort of Super 8 sometime. Can you bring that to the next meeting?

The hand crank and the color of the metal tell me early to mid 1960's for manufacture. Good luck on the film, check B&H photo out o NYC, they seem to to have a source of supply for everything else.

FYI: I think this takes standard 8mm film, not Super 8 cassettes. I'm not positive, but that's what my instinct tells me.

Yeah Barrett you're right. The lady that sold it to me just threw me off by saying cassettes.

This isn't my photo, but I've got a one of these sitting on tip of my aquarium:
