i might need some more reach than normal... i would be interested in borrowing/renting such a beast. it would have to be a last minute thing unfortunately because if i need it... i'll need it within a half hour of having to shoot.. i know, it sucks being on call like this. the 70-210 i've got might suffice, but would rather not find myself needing more.

lemme know if you've got somethin. and

p.s. i dont want your 600 f/4 brian!

How 'bout a 300 f4 with a 1.4x making it a 420 f5.6 the next time you need one?

hmm... that would probably work nicely... a friend of mine for cirrus wanted me to tag along for the virgin flight of their new jet. and, well... it sounds like i might not be able to get past the red tape now, but he's going to be getting me other opportunities as well... we'll keep in touch

woa yea thats what I meant haha, my bad. I got ahead og myself. lol if they were 70-200 they wouldn't be there, I would have them both. Yeah not sure if either of them are VR but there are indeed two 70-300 up there. Yeah Karl I got my first sb-24 up there for like 60 bucks. Theres a lot of old film stuff, and even a vivatar something or another. I almost picked it up cause it was only 40 bucks.

good news, i'll be workin with sigmas brand new 150-500mm OS HSM (optical stabilized, hypersonic motor) so we'll see how that fairs... if i get the opportunity.

it keeps going back and forth on if i'll be able to shoot this plane's first adventure into the air. but right now it seems like my odds are 80/20

If you go for a check ride, just make sure that you don't sign anything first. Signing something could hamper your next of kin's ability to collect damages from Cirrus in the event of a mishap. I used to fly with Confederate Air Force out of Arizona and know some of the legal stuff. btw, anything short of a 3 point landing is a mishap. I'd leave it for a Commercial Photographer that has the insurance to fly.
