So, my Powerbook is in the shop, and *may* have bitten the big one, but I'm not sure yet. Anyway, I have an odd request. Does anyone else out there have a 15" G4 Aluminum Powerbook and a kind heart?

Here's the deal: Mine works fine using the battery, but not with (any) power adapter. If it is toast, I need to somehow charge the battery to get the last dregs of my stuff off of it.

What I'm getting at is that I'd like to drop my battery off at your house and have you charge it in your machine for me.

My battery will only fit a 15" G4 Aluminum Powerbook. Any takers?

Sweet!

The Mac specialist at CW Technology is off for awhile, but I *might* get a diagnosis on Wednesday. Do you work M-F? I could easily drop by on Thursday or Friday if I need your weird service.

No problem actually ... they haven't called me yet. They said they might not be able to get to it until next week.

Hooray! It looks like they'll actually be able to affordably fix this thing! So thanks for your help, guys, but it looks like (fingers crossed) I won't be needing it.

The problem was the DC board, which costs $75 + labor. I was concerned that it might be the logic board, which runs about $600 + labor.
