So let's start early in our planning for this month.

1. Suggestions for meeting locations?
2. Nights that work best for meeting (monday, tuesday, wednesday, etc)? I've heard some talk about trying out a different night other than Wednesday, any thoughts?

I remember N8 and I were thinking about Burrito Union... Possiblity?

Oh, and I'll be missing the next few months. I'm going home for the summer... (Woo, Grand Marais!)

I just got back from Hell's Kitchen, and it looks like that could be a possibility. The Union would also be sweet.

4th Street and 14th Ave E -- at the old Whole foods Co-op location. It is a staple institution with this group.

The only thing about the BU is that we might be disrupting other customers, since we don't have our own little room.

We have done Burrito Union before. Not enough space and too loud. I vote no n Burrito Union.

I'm with moe on the no to burrito union. It was pretty cramped with just a few people there.
admin
Baja Billy's Deck or Grandmas Saloon Deck? Could make for good photo ops around that time.

Ah I was going to suggest a deck but I guess I forgot already. That would be fun.

Lets just break into the old Tap Room and do growler runs. Plenty of room.

If the weather is nice the back courtyard of Hacienda Del Sol?

no to BU, as others have said, would prefer no to Grandma's if at all possible.

I second Hacienda Del Sol, I haven't been there for awhile.
I wouldn't mind the deck at grandmas either though or greenmill for that matter.

Here are a list of places i can think of that have private waiting areas, or seating in quieter sections:

Grandma's Sport's Garden

Grandma's restaurant (canal park location)

Sara's Table

Fitger's Brewhouse (they have a small side area with like 6 booths)

Chinese Garden (they're located downtown on Superior St.)

Green Mill ( i feel like this has been a good location the past 2 months)

Amazing Grace Cafe (if we go a night they don't have live music)

Sir Ben's (again if we go a time they don't have live (or even just loud) music)

As far as Burrito Union goes i'm see an equal amout of people say 'yes' as those who say 'no'. So.... we'll leave it on the table for now, but i'm thinking that if it didn't work out so great the first time that perhaps it's not a good idea to go there again.

I vote No on the Union. Back when we had 7 people in this group it was already one the border of being inadequate.

I second Hacienda Del Sol, I haven't been there for awhile.

I haven't been there in about two years, Has the food and/or service improved recently?

Last time I went there was fingernails in the food.
Time before that, my burritos came with so much water on the plate it might as wlel been cold burrito sludge.
Time before that it was 1.5 hours before our food came out. Great for an hour long work lunch. When it did come out, I estiamte that it had been sitting under a heat lamp for 1.25 of those hours. A disgusting shell of hardened cheese had formed over the top that I have to chip through to get to my meal.

Mexico Lindo is so worth the drive to Cloquet.
fallfaceforward 10 years ago
i also would vote 'no' to Haienda- mostly because i don't like Mexican food.
admin
I am not a fan of fingernails in my food. LOL

Don't forget about beaners, we can have the whole upstairs.
admin
I vote for Beaners or Green Mill.
fallfaceforward 10 years ago
See, i've liked going to Green Mill. We have our own space and the servers are really good about how chaotic it must be to keep track of who order what.

is there anyone who DOESN'T like Green Mill?
admin
Wherever we choose, I suggest an after meeting night time shoot.

Mexican sure does sound yummy, but im down with whatever. Even having it at the lake or a BYOB&F in someones backyard would be cool.
