Of course Ill be there. Manley josh, make sure you look up about the 540ez flash first. It may be a little limited for what you want to do with it. And besides, if you are going with off camera flash, I would suggest looking for something cheaper but just as good. Good place to look for the 540 info is here: www.flickr.com/search/groups/?w=71917374@N00&q=540ez

Shana, you just made my day. And I mean, (well I'm hoping) that I look better in a dress then Shawn. (No offense Shawn ;) ) So if you really REALLY have no one to shoot, I'll be a model because I'm grounded and that's pretty much the only way I'd be able to get out of the house.
But just to warn you Karl was POLITE ENOUGH to let me know I CAN take bad looking photos.
Well that was super nice of Karl. And we could have a dress show down, Allison vs. Shawn. And the winner goes up agains N8, who i guess will be naked, or at least nearly. This is going to be an interesting meet up lol.
ANYWAY, how many people have V2s's? I would like to play with pocket wizards of anyone coming has some. I am thinking of selling my first born for a set.
Justin: i realize that i can't use it as a slave to my 580ex but all i can afford at this time is a cheap slave to use with the V2s's. I have a $1000 car repair to cover for now...there goes my 70-200mm f/2.8 fund :(
P.S. Here is what I have to bring: 1 - Cactus V2s wireless transmitter and 3 receivers 2 - SB-24 speedlights 1 - Vivitar 285hv 2 - Shoot through Umbrellas 1 - reflective umbrella 1 - Brolly Box (Softbox Umbrella) 3 - Lightstands 2 - gold/silver reflectors 1 - DIY Gridspot

back in my thinner days i used to be a model- so if you're not looking for that "model" body type i could always fill in. or i have a friend who if she's not working maybe would be interested. she's the petite, black haired girl i have pictures of on my site.
just let me know.

I will bring: 1 - Canon 580ex flash 1 - V2s transmitter 2 recievers 1- DIY snoot with gel slot (this is fun)
**i also did some Calvin Klien underware ads modeling but i'm past that stage in my life...so don't ask. :-)
Fallfaceforward, Hush! You look fine, and would make a good model. I think it would be better that we take turns anyway. What better way to learn to direct a model than to be directed yourself? Ill even bring my bunny suit for those that want to photo it. ;)
Manly.Josh "i realize that i can't use it as a slave to my 580ex but all i can afford at this time is a cheap slave to use with the V2s's." I know, but I was saying since you are not getting the benefit of having a slave canon flash, you could go with something cheaper that will do pretty much the same thing, like vivitar or one of the cheap nikons. Unless you just want a canon flash.
The softboxes are designed for much larger lights so even if you could get them mounted (which might not be all that hard,) the amount of light you would get out of them after all that diffusing would be minimal.
I tell you what -- I will bring a few larger lights and modifiers to play with after messing with the speedlights. Plus I will bring my portable power source for those lights for the graffiti graveyard, if anyone is interested.
I am driving back from Niswa that morning. I should be there on time but just in case I am a bit late here is my number 341-6114 I plan to leave at 7:30 am and it's a 2 1/2 hour drive and I know the are talking some snow in that area? Call me if it's 10:0 and I'm not there. Moe
So for those of us that may be late too the meeting due to travel, exactly how long do you think you will be at the school? I shouldnt be more than a hour late, so I assume you will still be there. Or do i need to walk around down town looking for lights flashing?
Big Thanks to Moe for setting up the venue, Allison for being so patient in front of the camera, Brian for showing us how to dial in a 3 light setup and showing creativity in the graffiti graveyard and everyone else that showed up and contributed. It was definitely a success.
